About BlakJak!

New Jersey was put on the map of the rock n roll and entertainment world by Bruce Springstein, Bon Jovi and The Sopranos. Hailing also from the backyards, barbeques and Jersey shore are BlakJak bringing you the same attitude and style of their hometown legends and something of their own as well to the rock table.

In early 2005, BlakJak started jamming like most do playing covers by their heroes but more importantly is that the guys were writing their own material as well allowing BlakJak to create its own identity early on. They are lead by vocalist Todd Knowlden, Joe Grano and Scott Hudzik on Guitar, Michael Konchalski on bass and Stephen Megna playing the skins.

All members contribute to the writing process making this a band effort and unifying Blakjak’s spirit.

BlakJak’s sound is grounded in a bluesy hard rock without a doubt, though with the versatility to be comfortable writing and playing with a metal edge.

After playing many local shows in the NJ area, the summer of 2006 saw the band heading out to the west coast to play the infamous Whiskey A GoGo in California. Since then they have graced the stage with Winger, Buckcherry, and several dates with W.A.S.P. for summer 2007 in the U.S. and Canada. The band will also be special guests for several shows with Jack Frost’s (Seven Witches/Bronx Casket Co.) new project Smell the Glove.

Early summer 07 sees the band entering the studio (Aarius Studios in Sayreville N.J.) to record their debut cd with Jack Frost engineering and producing and Joey Vera (Armored Saint/Fates Warning) mixing and mastering, with a tentative fall release. -- Rich Catino of Metal Asylum
